Height: 33
Width: 37″
Depth: 22″
Ca.: 1660

An antique English oak chest of drawers. Charles II period (1630-1685).

The drawer fronts with walnut inserts.

The substantial moulded top has cleated ends.

Containing four full-length pull out drawers, the top drawer fitted with divisions and centred by an unusual applied carved panel.

All drawers with side-runners typical of 17th century construction.

Raised on short ‘stile’ feet.

The ends are panelled, and the base retains the original bold moulding.

Brass key escutcheons possibly original, but ring handles are 18th century replacements.

Excellent condition overall, with an old waxed surface of good colour.
