Description

A late 18th century carved mahogany library tub chair, with a moulded show-wood frame of good rich colour and patination, in close-nailed green hide.
George III period, circa 1770-1780.

This antique English chair is a particularly fine, sophisticated and comfortable Georgian example.
These tub chairs continued to be produced throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in large numbers. Therefore any prospective purchaser ought to request a detailed commitment vis à vis date, when purchasing from any source.
