Description

A large English early 19th century primitive picture of a tiger in a landscape.

It is from the naive English school.

The recumbent tiger hand worked in coloured wools below a mountain with palm trees and tropical foliage.

This highly decorative picture is in excellent condition, in its apparently original birds eye maple frame with a gilt slip.

Auctioneers Tennents of Leyburn, North Yorkshire sold a related picture of a tiger on 8th September 2012 lot 925 @ £8000.

NB. 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this picture will be donated by us to the WWF towards Tiger conservation.
