Description

A good small English Regency period rosewood & brass inlaid cabinet bookcase/ chiffonier of excellent colour, and in superb condition.

This good quality cabinet or open bookcase survives with its original brassware.

This versatile antique would also make an attractive drinks, TV, hi fi cabinet, or sideboard.

The eminent cabinet-makers John McLean & Son (1770-1815) were responsible for the very best of these brass inlaid chiffoniers.

This one on offer is close to some of their designs. Often their furniture bears a trade label – vis. V&A Museum, London. Ref: Simon Redburn ‘John McLean & Son ‘, Furniture History Journal, vol. X1V, 1978, figs 32b-34b.
