Description

Raised on cabriole legs, this small mid-18th century English walnut lowboy/ dressing table/ vanity is only 2′ 5″ wide .

Retaining its original open-fret brasses, which are typical of this period.

Excellent well-figured walnut of mellow colour and original waxed surface.

It has a shaped apron consisting of 3 cock-beaded drawers.

Inlaid with boxwood lines.

This versatile antique can be used as a side/ lamp/ occasional/ writing/ dressing table or vanity.

Raised on cabriole legs.

Ralph Edwards illustrates a similar Georgian walnut lowboy on p.542, fig.2 ”Walnut Table; cabriole legs; shaped under framing, fitted with three drawers (Macquoid Collection).” The brasses appear to match ours.
