A George III period Welsh oak dresser of very good colour and patination, unusually retaining its original plate rack and brasses.
With shaped panelled doors flanking an arrangement of working drawers.
A nice original piece of antique country furniture. Note the bone-inlaid key escutcheons. This Georgian model may well be from N. Wales.
These oak dressers were originally meant for the kitchen or housekeeper’s pantry area, but these days this makes an excellent serving table in a kitchen or dining room.
Attractive and versatile for use in a hallway, for example, as a sideboard. As such the rack lifts off should you wish simply to use the bottom section.
The combination of working drawers and cupboards in the base are most useful to store cutlery, crockery, table linen etc.
