Description
A well carved antique oval giltwood Rococo mirror. English, mid-18th century.
Late George II period, circa 1755.
With vigorously carved, pierced Rococo foliate borders, surmounted by a shell.
Shaped and pierced overall with floral garlands and C-scrolls. Later beveled plate. Overall in lovely condition.

This carved rocaille scroll frame bears a resemblance to lot 73 (dated 1750) in the Sotheby’s sale of the Estate of the late Lady Hesketh, 7th March 2007.
