Description

An English early 18th century walnut bureau bookcase / cabinet, of good rich colour and patination.
George I period, ca 1725.

The top section with a bold swan-neck pediment centred by a brass finial.
The mirrored door – above two candle slides – opens to reveal a fitted interior of drawers and shelving.

The bureau base with a fitted interior, a concealed well beneath a slide, revealing secret drawers, over two short and two long drawers.
The whole veneered and feather banded in well-figured walnut.
Brasses are period, but not original. Mirror plate and brass finial are historical replacements.
