Description

An early-18th century Queen Anne period carved walnut games, or card, table.
Circa 1710.

Veneered in well-figured walnut with herringbone feather bandings.
The bold fold-over outset shaped top opening to reveal candle stands and guinea wells.
Raised on slender cabriole legs with lappet carving and pad feet.

This fine, rare antique has a superb, rich golden colour and beautiful original waxed surfaces.

NB. The hinged ”concertina” action allows for positioning a leg at all four corners, demonstrating its early 18th century sophistication and, of course, stability.
