Description
A rare japanned gilt-heightened tray-top table. Mid 18th century, ca 1740.
Finely decorated in raised gilt in the ‘chinoiserie’ manner – sometimes referred to as either japanned or lacquer – with scenes of Mt Fuji, a lake, blossoming trees, rockwork and sailing boats.
A rare, sophisticated and versatile antique table on its original stand, in lovely, virtually untouched condition. The tray top is fully detachable.
