A charming 19th century oil on canvas painting by George Burrell Willcock R.A. (1811-1852).
Entitled: “A Gypsy Encampment”.

Circa 1840.

Figures camping in a wooded landscape, with a cottage in the middle distance.
In its original antique frame and protected behind glass.

Size: 21″ by 17″ (incl. frame).

Burrell Willcock was a constant exhibitor at the Royal Academy between 1846 and 1851.
He studied under John Constable (1776-1837), and was influenced by James Stark (1794-1859).
The majority of his works were painted in Devon, UK.
