Description

A fine English George III-period carved and gilt gesso mirror.

This exceptional Georgian giltwood mirror is surmounted by a displaying eagle above a Chinese pagoda. The pierced frame is surrounded by vigorously-carved summer flowers, foliage and contrasted ‘C’ scrolls in the typical Chippendale taste of the eighteenth century. Antique mirror plate a little later. In superb condition throughout.
