Description

A fine and rare cellarette – or jardinière – attributed to Thomas Hope, ca 1810.

In the best quality mahogany with ebony lines and raised on well-carved animal paw feet. Original zinc liner and a removable zinc tray insert. Raised on twin plinths with four original concealed castors.

This exceptional antique wine cooler, cellaret, or jardinière (jardiniere), is attributable to designs by Thomas Hope in the neo-classical taste. It has survived in its original state, having acquired superb colour and patination over the years.
