Description
George I-period, early-18th century solid walnut armchair (or elbow chair) of deep, rich colour and patina. Circa 1720-1730. Very-well drawn, restrained. Of lovely proportions.
An elegant shape to the back, the slightly-dished shepherd’s crook arms with roundels, and the legs terminating in pad feet. Rich colour and patination throughout, developed over some 300 years.
Notably comfortable and supportive, with smart velvet upholstery. Will work well in any room of the house, enhancing a traditional or contemporary interior. Very sturdy in the joints, ready to use, in its strikingly-well preserved condition.
