Description

A Queen Anne period walnut silver table of good rich colour and patination.
English, early 18th century, c 1710.

This rare antique table is raised on elegantly drawn cabriole legs, having the unusual feature of twin pull-out candle slides, and with a working drawer in the frieze.

With a raised cross-grain moulded edge and re-entrant corners.
This table is a classic example of the sophisticated and restrained Queen Anne period.

This is unusual in walnut, as most are in mahogany. Minor historic repairs commensurate with its age. Oak linings.

Measures:
W 31″
D 18.5″
H 26.5″.

Ref. A similar silver table – but of a later date and in mahogany – without candle slides or drawer, was sold at Christies for £7500, lot 2, 17th November 2016.
