A Regency period mahogany whatnot / étagère (etagere) of rare form, circa 1810.
This exceptional quality, antique English free-standing ‘island cabinet’ could be used for bottle and glass storage similar to a wine cellarette. The cupboards alternate with working drawers. Raised on its original short feet and brass castors. The angles set with typical Regency half-columns. The top surface provides an ideal spot for a clock / photographs / porcelain etc.
All in lovely, figured, faded mahogany, largely in excellent original state, and ready to house your prized wines and single malts.
During the last 64 years we have come across very few of this particular Georgian form. Sometimes erroneously referred to as a guéridon (gueridon).
