Description
A good quality small George III-period mahogany chest of drawers with brushing slide. The solid mahogany rectangular top with moulded edge above a brushing slide, five short, and three long cockbeaded drawers retaining its original locks, pulls and bracket feet. Pine linings. Dating from the last quarter of the 18th century.
A desirable example of compact proportions and boasting a deep, rich colour and good patina.
Some evidence of historical repairs, eg to the odd leading edge (as one would expect) commensurate with its age. This has been professionally restored and ready to use in any room.
Nb. At only a touch over 3 feet in width, this is a very versatile, good looking and sophisticated storage option which will fit neatly into many spaces within the house.
