Description

This antique oak lowboy/ dressing/ vanity table is raised on well drawn cabriole legs terminating in club feet. The frieze containing three cock beaded drawers above an unusually bold and elegant shaped apron.

Super colour, with good patina and overall condition.

All brass mounts are original with a minor loss above the central keyhole escutcheon. Lock is original.

The top correctly constructed in two sections with cleated ends. Can be used as a lovely small occasional, side or writing table.

“Lowboy” is often thought of as an American term – they are in much demand there – also known as a “Vanity”. In England sometimes they are referred to as a “dressing table”. This works well with a dressing table mirror, in fact earlier versions sometimes show lowboy and dressing table mirror constructed as one unit.
