Description
A good small English Regency period brass inlaid cabinet bookcase/ chiffonier of excellent colour, and in superb condition. Circa 1815.
This good quality cabinet or open bookcase survives with its original brassware.
A versatile antique which also makes an attractive drinks cabinet, TV/ audio cabinet, or sideboard.
The eminent cabinet-makers John McLean & Son (1770-1815) were responsible for the very best of these brass-inlaid chiffoniers.
This one on offer is close to some of their designs. Often their furniture bears a trade label – vis. V&A Museum, London.
