Description

A Queen Anne period walnut silver table, of good rich colour and patination.
English, early 18th century, circa 1710.

This rare antique walnut silver table is raised on elegantly drawn cabriole legs, having the unusual feature of twin pull-out candle slides, and with a working drawer in the frieze. With a raised cross-grain moulded edge and re-entrant corners. This table is an absolutely classic example of the sophisticated and restrained Queen Anne period.

Unusual in walnut as most are in mahogany. Minor historic repairs commensurate with its age. Oak linings.

Nb. A similar silver table, but of a later date and in mahogany, without candle slides or drawer, was sold at Christies for £7500, lot 2, 17th November 2016.
