A high quality English carved mahogany Chippendale style tripod table. 19th century.

The top carved with ‘Gothic’ arched gallery, supported on a bird cage, allowing the top to rotate.
Raised on a spirally-turned column support terminating in a tripod base, with carved knees and trailing husk decoration in low relief.
The feet carved with ball and claw.

Nb. Interestingly the gallery on this antique table is laminated, which is usually a feature of 18th century construction.
This desirable Chippendale style tripod table could be used as an occasional, tea or silver table.
