Georgian sofa table – possibly Scottish. Ca 1810.

Beautiful faded colour with original surfaces.

The top is in well matched figured mahogany with cross banded borders within ebony lines.
The frieze is conventionally set with two working drawers with opposing ‘dummy’ drawer fronts.
The whole is raised on end standard supports with matching ebony lines, united by a stretcher centered by a well carved ‘rope twist’. The down swept sabre legs terminating in acanthus cast gilt metal cappings and castors.

This versatile table can be used as a conventional sofa table, a library/writing table, a dressing table, or even as a small supper table.
