Description
A rare, diminutive, late-18th century secretaire bookcase / cabinet.
George III-period, circa 1790.
Mahogany of very good rich colour and well patinated.
Inlaid and crossbanded throughout.
Only 2’5″ wide.
The fine-quality mounts are correct for period but apparently replaced in the 19th century.
The domed pediment is centred with a satinwood lozenge.
The whole raised on swept bracket feet, with a shaped apron.
A lovely, elegant antique – offering useful storage – in excellent condition throughout.
Could also be used for writing, or as a fine dressing table/ vanity.
