Greetings from John, as we head into Spring:
As some of you are aware, we have been very busy since the start of 2023 and are struggling a bit to keep up with numerous restoration projects. For example a fine and rare Coromandel lacquer cabinet on a Charles ll carved stand has spent aeons in our specialist lacquer workshop!
Recent additions to our stock have been a very good carved mahogany Gainsborough armchair ca 1760, and an important bombé and serpentine marble top commode from the Louis XV period, with a number of other interesting items on their way.
To reiterate… quite a number of items in our inventory are still held up – due to be catalogued and photographed, or are in transit, being shipped to us – so if any of you have specific requirements, do not hesitate to make contact.
Incidentally, we are putting together a ‘harlequin’ set of English mid-18th century ‘Chinese’ Cockpen mahogany chairs similar to the one illustrated here:
